My Story

Hi! My name is Joe Forrest, I’m a fine artist from Wallasey, Wirral, UK.

I’ve been drawing/painting since I was a kid and have been pursuing one form of art or another since leaving school in 2003. Firstly, training with The Merseyside Forum in Liverpool between 2003-2007, then working as a partnership with my brother called ‘Forrest Fine Arts’ between 2008-2011. After a few years doing a mixture of graphic and web design I was asked in April 2016 to paint a series of canvases and murals for ‘The Viking pub & bakehouse’ in West Kirby, Wirral. This was a large project consisting of 11 separate artworks, which not only got me back into painting in a big way but also allowed me the opportunity to start my own business ‘Joe Forrest Fine Artist’ the following month.

Since then I have been doing a wide variety of projects including large scale murals for businesses and individuals, as well as many portraits of pets, people and celebrities. The most popular piece so far has been was a large metre tall painting of David Bowie I was commissioned to do following his death. After its completion in September 2016 the following photo (right) went viral on Facebook and reached an audience of 42,000 people.

In May 2017 I moved the business out of my spare room at home and into a proper artist studio in Liverpool city centre. Being amongst other creative people and artists again has been a fantastic experience and I love being in the city each day. Whilst 2017 saw some great work and projects a lot of it was paving the way for some very exciting work which will be coming up in 2018, so please Like the page and follow my artwork and journey.
